Reading the recent headlines
Is really chilling to me
A little bit like watching
A Nazi documentary

Scrapping the human rights act
Curbing foreigners greed
Unless they’re the obscenely rich ones
Whose money we supposedly need

But then I look into your eyes
Your mouth with yoghurt filled smile
I realise there’s still some innocence
And it makes life feel worthwhile
