A breeding pair at last
The swans we've seen this past
Three years upon the canal.
Chickless with empty nest
Although I'm sure they've tried their best
To raise a family.
And here they sail
He at the front, behind the female
Guading four cygnets grey.
As so now I a parent too
Wonder how I will shepherd mine through
When finally she sails in the world herself.
